During a trip to our local farmers market I picked up exactly 32 ears of corn for $3! It is good corn too no bumps, bruises, or slime on the hairs.
Only one problem the freezer is full! Now I can't blanch and freeze these tasty little guys. :(
Out pops my awesome garage sale find: the dial-o-matic mark 4! Each cob easily slid across that knuckle slicing blade. With using just 15 cobs i was able to fill one zipper bag.
I have 18 cobs to go and I am going to have fresh frozen corn kernels as well as a couple of bags of cobbed corn that will last us hopefully until next summer.
Do you can or freeze fresh produce or herbs for use off season? What is the coolest thing you've canned, frozen or even dehydrated?
